South Korea has a high-quality healthcare system. As an international student, you are required to enroll in the National Health Insurance (NHI) system.
International students staying in Korea for more than 6 months are automatically enrolled.
Students receive a discount (approx. 50%). The monthly fee is around 70,000 - 80,000 KRW.
Covers most medical treatments, surgeries, and check-ups at a reduced cost.
For minor illnesses like cold, flu, or stomach ache.
For serious conditions. Usually requires a referral from a clinic.
For prescription medicines and over-the-counter drugs.
