Guidelines for working while studying
International students (D-2 visa holders) are allowed to work part-time in Korea, but strict rules apply. You must receive permission from the immigration office before starting work.
Undergraduate: Up to 20-25 hours/week. Graduate: Up to 30-35 hours/week. (Unlimited during holidays)
GPA of previous semester must be C (2.0) or higher. Lower GPA may restrict work hours.
Construction, Manufacturing (with exceptions), Adult entertainment, Private tutoring, etc.
Find a job and sign a labor contract.
Get the 'Part-time Work of Foreign Student Confirmation Form' signed by your employer and university.
Apply online via HiKorea website or visit the immigration office.
Start working only AFTER receiving approval.
